Fiction Editing

I’m here to help you get your story in tip-top shape so you can feel more confident about submitting it for publication.

Proofreading

Need a second pair of eyes? I can proofread any type of written content (fiction, nonfiction, blog posts, marketing copy, flyers/brochures, newsletters, business plans, etc.) to find and fix any issues relating to:

  • Spelling
  • Punctuation
  • Grammar and usage
  • Consistency
  • Readability
  • Basic formatting

If your document has links, I will make sure they are correct as well. I will return your Word file ASAP (clean document or with Microsoft Word Track Changes – your choice). If your file is a print-ready PDF, I will use comments/sticky notes. My affordable rate will depend on the size and type of document. Copy Editing

My copy editing service includes finding and fixing all of the above plus:

  • Rewriting as needed for clarity, structure, and flow
  • Fact-checking, if applicable
  • Making the document consistent with a preferred style guide (such as AP or Chicago Manual of Style), if applicable
  • Nonfiction: feedback and suggestions regarding voice, style, story, purpose, and/or target audience
  • Fiction: feedback and suggestions regarding plot, characters, and other important elements of your story

Book Layout/Formatting

Authors, I can format your books for print and/or ebook publication. I will configure your Word file to give your book a professional look based on your preferences. You will have a formatted file you can upload to Amazon/KDP or any other distributor/printer. Formatting can be bundled with editing or proofreading for a discount, so please contact me with details for a quote.

Ghostwriting

Do you have a great idea for a book but not the time to write it? Let me take care of that for you!
